So, you know that AI skills gap everyone's been talking about? Well, it's as real as a unicorn in your backyard! According to Randstad, job postings for folks with generative AI skills have shot up by a whopping 2,000% since March, making it the third most coveted skill in town. Big companies are like, "Hey, let's get ourselves a Chief AI Officer (CAIO) to hop on the AI bandwagon," and they might be onto something. But what about the little guys, the startups, and the tiny but mighty scale-ups? They need AI too. That's where the fractional AI officer swoops in like a superhero with a side hustle! It's like having your own personal AI wizard who's juggling multiple clients at once. And here's the kicker: having a fractional AI officer might actually be better than a full-timer. Why, you ask? Because AI is like the cool new kid in school, and these fractional heroes have the street smarts from working with different companies. They're like AI chameleons, adapting and thriving.

Elon Musk is generating anticipation for his upcoming ChatGPT competitor, Grok, raising concerns about its potential impact on public discourse. The article critiques Musk's influence and the dangers posed by an AI chatbot, emphasizing the risk of misinformation. Grok's integration into Musk's platform, X, is seen as a strategy to attract Premium+ subscribers. The real threat, however, lies in the possibility of Musk's AI drowning out genuine discourse, with implications for the manipulation of public opinion. To which I say manipulate the bot all you want Musk, just donāt make it arrogant like yourself.
This week, an intriguing AI project caught my eye, namely VToonify, an innovative project that transforms both images and videos into high-quality artistic renditions of portraits, endowing the faces with an animated, artistic flair in the resulting output. It uses a different technique that helps keep the details in the image/ video, even when faces are not perfectly aligned. It works well for videos of different sizes and maintains a natural look with moving faces. The method also allows for flexible control of colors and styles in the portraits. The study shows that VToonify is better than previous methods in creating good-looking and smooth artistic portrait videos.

Google DeepMind has recently provided a significant contribution to the field of artificial intelligence by offering a formal definition of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), which represents the pinnacle of AI capabilities. In addition, DeepMind has conducted a comprehensive evaluation of contemporary chatbot systems, effectively ranking their performance. This evaluation sheds light on the current limitations of chatbots, highlighting the considerable gap between their capabilities and the aspirational goal of AGI. DeepMind's initiative serves as a valuable benchmark for the AI community, emphasizing the need for further advancements to bridge this gap and achieve more sophisticated conversational AI systems. AGI is the future, and chatbots better start hitting the AI gym! šŖš¤

Amazon is launching an AI-powered chatbot named Q for AWS customers. Priced at $20 per user per year, Q can answer queries related to AWS and generate or summarize content. Trained on 17 years of AWS knowledge, it can analyze data and offer solutions. Q goes beyond answering questions, performing actions through configurable plugins. It integrates with existing chat apps like Slack and understands nuances of AWS workloads. Q also ties in with CodeWhisperer for code-related features. Amazon highlights Q's controllability, ensuring it only accesses authorized information, and emphasizes privacy measures to address concerns about data usage and security.
