Everyone is aware of the chip shortage in the world, and mostly tech companies only focus on designing and outsource the manufacturing as maintaining chip fabrication plant can be very expensive. Sam on the other hand is looking to raise tens of billions of dollars to set up a network of factories to manufacture semiconductors. It takes years to set up a single manufacturing plant and Sam wants to set up an entire network, I think by that time he himself will be replaced by Tesla humanoid 🤖
Two weeks into 2024 and stability AI already launched their second multilingual LLM Stable 2 1.6B. This space is dominated by giants like OpenAI however in smaller model space, this model by Stability AI outperforms models like Microsoft’s Phi-2 (2.7B), TinyLlama 1.1B,and Falcon 1B. Carlos Riquelme, Head of the Language Team at Stability AI believes that the LLMs are going to get only thinner and better overtime.
