OpenAI and Microsoft got sued again 👨🏼‍⚖️

Your Weekly Pinch of AI Insights

A few days in new year and one of my predictions already came true, in the last edition I mentioned this year might bring more law suits and guess what… some non fiction authors sued OpenAI and Microsoft for using their work. Only if I had known, I would predict Bitcoin price to be $1 million USD 😝

Today we have for you:

  • OpenAI and Microsoft got sued again

  • NVIDIA launched new graphic card

  • Custom GPTs as a side hustle

Just a few days ago, New York Times sued OpenAI and Microsoft for copyright infringement, and now two nonfiction writers sued them again for the same. They can easily settle this one as it's only for 150k each but that would open them to more law suits.

What if I tell you, that lowering performance of the product can boost the sales? Crazyyyyy.. right? Well, it seems to be the case with NVIDIA, as they recently launched RTX 5880 ada which is the cutdown version of 6000 just to export them to restricted countries like China. RTX 5880 Ada graphics card is a big deal for gamers and creators. The price is to be expected between $4000-$6800. NVIDIA's technology, particularly its powerful GPUs and AI capabilities, is used to simulate quantum environments and algorithms.

Looking for the best side hustle in 2024? OpenAI's new store offers a way to make money by selling custom GPT models. You don't need coding skills; just a unique idea. To make money in OpenAI's store, first create your own GPT model based on a unique idea, like a chatbot that gives cooking tips. Then, write clear instructions on how to use it. Test your GPT to make sure it works well, and when it's ready, publish it on the store. You can then earn money with revenue sharing model of Open AI.

It's not any crystal meth hallucination that you dream about 💊 AI 'hallucinations' can be surprisingly helpful. AI like ChatGPT generates unexpected or imaginative responses. These aren't errors but a sign of AI's creative process, offering a unique blend of human and machine interaction. GPT4 hallucinates 3% of the time while Google Bard hallucinates 27% of the time. LLMs work by squeezing a huge amount of information from their training data into a simpler form leading to loss of details. This reminds us that AI isn't perfect and still needs human guidance.
